About K.B Cerrano
Cerrano is a Canadian-born science fiction and fantasy comic book artist and the author of his debut space opera comic book series Space Asylum.
Cerrano earned his Honours BSc in Statistics with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa in 2025. Inspired by his passion for science and philosophy, he creates stories for all audiences; blending intellectual humor with dramatic action. Fueled by coffee.
When he's not writing or illustrating, Cerrano loves playing open world games like RuneScape, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Skyrim, or catching up on anime / manga. His inspirations often bleed into the worlds and characters of Space Asylum!
Why Space Asylum
The Vision
Space Asylum is my passionate debut project - a comic book series I originally started during the 2019 pandemic (while also studying the perilously annoying proofs of mathematical limit theorems).
It's a science-fiction series that blends action, humor and philosophy into one story. If you love anime/manga or space operas, then you're in the right place! Captain Tom and his loveable crew are inspired by real people I have met in my life - reimagined to make them part of a compelling narrative.
It's a story about nostalgia, enduring friendship, and the strength friends find in one another.
There is a lot more of the story to tell! This is just the beginning!
